The island of Gozo has always been invested with a special charm.  With an area of 67 square km it is the second largest island of the Maltese archipelago.  With contrast to Malta, Gozo is more hilly and has several valleys.  This makes Gozo much greener and a producer of several agricultural products.

Gozo has much to offer in the way of attractions.  In Gozo stands the oldest and one of the most imposing megalithic temples of the islands, known as Ggantija.  Following in the footsteps of the temples, Gozitan people has built several churches which became the centre of village life and a landmark of the village.  The biggest one is the Xewkija parish church dedicated to St. John the Baptist.  This church whose gigantic dome is one of the biggest in the world is less than 5 minutes walking distance far from Ta' Maria farmhouse.

Wherever you are in Gozo you will notice that you are never far from the Mediterranean Sea.  Gozo's 43 km coastline is so diverse and spectacular that it stimulates the imagination of poets and artists.  Tiny creeks, sandy and pebble beaches, rock formations and high cliffs falling sheer drop into the clear waters characterise the Gozitan coast.

In the centre of the island lies the capital of Gozo, Rabat, which has since the turn of the century been raised to the status of a city, officially known as Victoria.  The town  is watched over from its higher peak by the Citadel which now hosts several museums and the Cathedral of Gozo.

Midway between Victoria and Mgarr harbour lies the village of Xewkija with its 3000 habitants.  Characterised by the Rotunda church, Xewkija offers stunning landscapes including Mgarr ix-Xini Valley and bay and the services of supermarkets, restaurants, banking facilities, butchers, pharmacy, diving centres and everything you may need for your holiday.
